Superhead Installation Guide

|
The Superhead is quick and easy to install. It can be installed on new tanks or retro- fitted to existing tanks. This example is for an existing tank but also applies to new installations.
Overview The Superhead needs to be installed above the inlet to your tank. The inlet can be the top of the tank (shown) or can be through the overflow pipe on the side. The overflow pipe is a good option where height is an issue. The Superhead can be installed anywhere between the gutter downpipe and the rainwater tank. It can even be installed directly on the tank. In this example it is located directly under the existing downpipe adapter. The Superhead will shed leaves from the gutters and also drip as the flush pipe drains so select a suitable location near a garden or drain. Alternatively the flush pipe can be connected to standard reticulation fittings to direct the first- flush water. You will also need to secure the Superhead and pipes to a wall or other structure. It can be fixed to the rainwater tank but be sure to only put screws and fixings above the water line, or on the stand or otherdry part of the tank. DO NOT FIX DIRECTLY TO THE TANK OR YOUR TANK MAY LEAK! Instructions
Congratulations! Your’e all done!
Adjusting the First Flush Diverter If it has not rained for some time then your roof and gutters will contain a lot of dirt. Therefore you may want to do a large flush to clean the roof before collecting water. To do this simply loosen or even remove the drain plug at the bottom of the flush pipe. This will allow more water to be ‘flushed’ before it gets diverted to the tank. Alternatively if it has been raining frequently you may wish to reduce the first- flush. To reduce the flush simply tighten the drain plug. The flush pipe will slowly drain through the plug over the hours following rain. It is important that the flush pipe empties otherwise water can stagnate in the flush pipe. The foam filter prevents debris from blocking the drain but check the drain plug occasionally to ensure that it drips after rain. If it is not dripping simply remove the drain plug to clear any blockage.
Cleaning the Insect Screen To clean the mesh, simply remove the top leaf screen and remove the insect screen to remove any blockages If you are experiencing blockeges frequently then you could try a filter bag (contact us to buy). Alternatively if you have another insect screen such as a basket filter on the top of the tank then the insect screen can be removed altogether
